<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Deadline: August 1st, 2012</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Early bird submissions from May 7th–June 17th, 2012</span></strong></p>
<p>From their website: We invite emerging and mid-career photographers from around the world to submit work to the International Fine Art Photography competition—an annual program focused on providing recognition and exposure for talented photographic artists of all ages (18 years and older).</p>
<p>All images will be thoughtfully reviewed by our panel of jurors. Finalists will be selected for exhibition, and winners will receive cash awards as well as exhibition and publication opportunities in the international fine art photography community.</p>
<p>The Grand Prix de Découverte winner (the photographer with the outstanding image of the year) receives an award of $5,000, travel to Paris, and a weekend stay in The City of Light for the awards ceremony.</p>
<p>Category winners receive an award of $1000.</p>
<p>All finalists’ photographs will be:</p>
<ul>
<li>presented in a Paris exhibit in November in conjunction with Paris Photo 2012 and Paris Mois de la Photo</li>
<li>included in the exhibit catalog</li>
<li>accepted into the prestigious collection of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France</li>
<li>presented in aCurator magazine and blog, read by museum and gallery curators throughout the world</li>
<li>exhibited in the International Fine Art Photography online gallery</li>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>North Lands Creative Glass and Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, call for applicants: Mixed-Media Residencies</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Deadline: May 31st, 2012</span></strong></p>
<p>North Lands Creative Glass and <a href="http://www.edinburghsculpture.org/">Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop</a> are working in partnership to offer a nine-week residency for four visual artists. They are looking for two sculptors and two glass artists who have an interest in exploring new forms of making through collaboration. A high level of experience in hot casting processes either in metal or glass is preferable.</p>
<p>The residency will offer the opportunity to create work and collaborate with artists while also learning and sharing techniques and methods of working with different materials. Artists will be selected by North Lands Creative Glass and Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop and the residency time will be split between the two venues. This opportunity will allow you to enhance your own practice while working within a peer group to gain further skills. Both venues enable artists-in-residence to benefit from a comprehensive range of facilities. Artists will receive a stipend of £700 and a materials allowance.</p>

This is a fantastic opportunity for members working in the photographic arts to exhibit work at our new location in San Francisco’s Mid-Market Arts District. Lisa Sutcliffe, Assistant Curator of Photography for SFMOMA, will curate and title this exhibition.</p>

<p><strong></strong>The Northern Arizona University (NAU) Art Museum solicits submissions for the 6th Biennial Juried Print Exhibition to be produced in September 2012.</p>
<p>The Biennial encourages submissions in traditional printmaking media, as well as works that employ new and hybridized media. We are particularly interested in works on paper that challenge accepted norms of scale and that blur the distinction between two and three dimensions.</p>
<p>This national / international exhibition is open to all artists that are 18 years of age and older. All printmaking media, exclusive of commercial reproductions, are eligible. The Biennial encourages submissions in traditional printmaking media, as well as works that employ new and hybridized media. We are particularly interested in works on paper that challenge accepted norms of scale and that blur the distinction between two and three dimensions.</p>
<p>Our juror for the 6th Biennial Juried Print Exhibition is Ian Ruffino recently of The Ohio State University.</p>
<p>Entry forms must be received at NAU Art Museum by June 15, 2012. Exhibition runs September 18, 2012 through November 17, 2012. First place, $600.00.</p>

<p>Disjecta, a nonprofit arts organization, located in Portland, Oregon, is currently accepting submissions as part of its mission to highlight the work of local and regional, American and international artists focusing on challenging and emerging ideas in contemporary art.</p>
<p align="left">The Curatorial Committee of Disjecta is composed of Disjecta staff, artists, curators and arts professionals representing a broad range of disciplines and cultural backgrounds. The Curatorial Committee reviews proposals from artists and organizations, choosing programs for their artistic strength and cultural and/or social relevance. Applications are accepted year round.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Project Proposal for Visual Arts Submissions should include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>1 &#8211; 2 page explanation of the project. Project explanation should also include the following:</li>
<li>resume/bio of artist(s) and curator(s);</li>
<li>labeled slides and slide script, or other appropriate documentation</li>
<li>itemized budget</li>
<li>technical/equipment requirements with specifics on installation/de-installation.</li>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Deadline: May 18th, 2012</span></strong></p>
<p>Four six-week residencies which include a stipend and supply budget are to be offered between September 2012 and April 2013. Ebb &amp; Flow is a 6-week residency based on the premise that Southern Louisiana can be seen as a microcosm of the global environment, manifesting both the challenges and possibilities inherent in human interaction with urban and natural ecosystems. They ask artists to describe in detail how the region will affect their work, to propose a public component to their residency and to suggest ways in which they will engage with the local community. Residents given $3,000 stipend and $2,000 for materials, plus full room and board including food, utilities and studio space. $30 application fee. The deadline for submissions is May 18th, 2012.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><em>Call For Proposals: Exhibit, Netart, Perform, Project/Sound, Present, Street!</em></strong></p>
<p>Prospectives ’12 International Festival of Digital Art highlights the work of graduate and Phd candidates working across all disciplines utilizing experimental digital media in their creative endeavors.</p>
<p>Prospectives ‘12, the third iteration of our festival, breaks down into six interrelated events/venues:<br />
•Exhibit (A one month group exhibition at the Sheppard Fine Arts Gallery, UNR)<br />
•Netart (discrete internet based artworks highlighted through the festival website and accessible at the exhibit venue)<br />
•Perform (A one night event of performances and screenings at The Nevada Museum of Art, Wayne and Miriam Prim Theater)<br />
• Project/sound (An evening of projected, full-dome and standard formatted video and performances/playback of electro-acoustic and sound works at The Fleischman Planetarium, UNR &#8211; mono, stereo, and 5.1 surround sound capabilities )<br />
•Present (A day long symposium of poster sessions and paper presentations)<br />
•Street (Temporary, street level works situated in and around Reno)</p>
<p><strong>Eligibility:</strong> If you are enrolled or were enrolled in a graduate or Phd program in 2012, working creatively in and across disciplines focused on digital technologies in your creative practice, you are eligible and encouraged to submit an application!</p>
<p>Creative practitioners working in all visual and performative media incorporating digital systems, including but not limited to: interactive art, robotics, movement/dance, computer gaming, net art, culture-jamming, full-dome video/animation, generative systems, social practice, electronic sculpture, locative media, augmented reality, electronic music/audio art, experimental theater, performance art, telematics, electro-acoustics, sound art, etc. are invited to apply. Collaborations and works-in-progress are welcome and encouraged.</p>
<p><strong>Travel Grants:</strong> A limited number of travel/accommodation grants are available and will be awarded by the festival jurors.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">SPE is accepting proposals for the 50th annual SPE national conference &#8220;Conferring Significance: Celebrating Photography&#8217;s Continuum &#8221; March 7-10, 2013 in Chicago, IL.   Proposals will be accepted for the 2013 conference March 22, 2012 – June 1, 2012.<strong><em> Topics are not required to be theme-based, and may include but are not limited to, imagemaking, history, contemporary theory and criticism, multidisciplinary approaches, new technologies, effects of media and culture, educational issues, funding, and presentations of work in photography, film, video, performance and installation.  </em></strong> Download the PDF (see below) call for entry form above for full conference description, proposal guidelines and instructions for submitting your proposal online through Slideroom.com.  Entry fee: $10.</p>
<p><strong>Eligibility:</strong><em> Current SPE members are eligible to submit a proposal for consideration.</em> Individuals who have presented at two SPE national conferences since 2010 (Philadelphia) are not eligible. <p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Requirements: Presentation Format Descriptions  </strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">-Graduate Student – short presentation of your own artistic work and a brief introduction to your graduate program (must be enrolled in graduate program at time of submission)</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">-  Imagemaker – presentation on your own artistic work</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">-Lecture – presentation on historical topic, theory, or another artist&#8217;s work</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">-Panel – a group led by a moderator to discuss a chosen topic</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">-Teaching and Learning (new category this year!) – presentations, workshops, demos that addresses educational issues, including teaching resources and strategies (syllabi, videos, assignments, readings, class prep/setup, and power point presentations); curricula to serve diverse artists and changing student populations; seeking promotion and tenure; avoiding burnout, and professional exchange</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Awards:</strong> Accepted submissions are eligible for a discounted rate to attend and present at the 2013 SPE national conference. Current membership is required to participate as a conference speaker. The speaker rate is limited to one discounted speaker fee per imagemaker presentation; one discounted speaker fee per lecture, one discounted speaker fee per demonstration, one discounted speaker fee per graduate student presentation and up to four discounted speaker fees (1 moderator and up to 3 panelists) per panel.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Evaluation Criteria:</strong> Submissions are reviewed by a ten-member peer review panel.</p>
