From their call: AC Institute is pleased to announce our annual call for submissions for the 2017 season. This call is open to artists, curators and collectives who work within the genre of installation, sound, performance and/or video.

AC Institute is a hub for experimentation and radicalism. We are in search of creators whose practice challenges conventional expectations of meaning, objectivity, and medium.

Applicants should send a 500-word proposal with at least two (2) renderings (optional but encouraged) of the project that would be shown at AC Institute. Please include the following in your application:

+Duration of project (1 month maximum)
+Portfolio – for documentation, please submit up to 10 images (72dpi, JPEG) OR 2 videos and/or audio samples.
+Website (if applicable)

Please submit all materials in a single PDF file and send to with Proposal Submission in the subject line. Please note that you may only submit one project proposal

About: The AC Institute’s mission is to advance the understanding of the arts through investigation, research and education. It is a lab and forum for experimentation and critical discussion. We support and develop projects that explore a performative exchange across visual, sonic, verbal and experiential disciplines. We encourage critical writing that challenges conventional expectations of meaning and objectivity as well as the boundaries between the rational and subjective.
