Eligibility:  All artists over the age of 18 – working in any medium – are eligible. All work must be original and must have been completed in the last two years (2016 or later). Alexandria Museum of Art (AMoA) encourages artists working in video and other experimental media to submit entries for judging. Video entries must not exceed 30 minutes in length. No work should exceed seven (7) feet (84”) in any direction, or 200 lbs. in weight. Entries exceeding these limitations will automatically be disqualified. All works must be adhered to a backing for exhibition, nothing will be painted or adhered directly to the museum walls. Entry fee.

  • First Place: $800
  • Second Place: $500
  • Third Place: $300
  • Honorable Mention: $100
  • Honorable Mention: $100
  • Honorable Mention: $100

Juror: A native of Sprott, Ala., William Underwood Eiland is the director of the Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia. He has a bachelor’s degree from Birmingham-Southern College and master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Virginia. He has served on the boards of the American Alliance of Museums, the Southeastern Museums Conference and the Georgia Association of Museums and Galleries; was a trustee of the Association of Art Museum Directors; and was chairman of the Arts and Artifacts Indemnity Advisory Panel for the National Endowment for the Arts.
