Filter Photo (IL), International Call for Entries: Context 2017

From their call: Filter Photo is pleased to announce Context 2017, our annual spring open call for lens-based work. This year the exhibition will be juried by Natash Egan, Executive Director of the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago (MoCP).

Theme: Juror Natasha Egan will consider all types of photographic work for this third annual survey exhibition of contemporary photography. This open theme allows for the widest understanding of the medium and current photographic practices.

Eligibility: All are welcome to apply for this call for entry.

Context 2017 will open March 3rd, 2017 at Filter Space and will remain open through April 22nd, 2017. A juror’s choice award and an honorable mention will be awarded.

All types of photographic and lens-based work will be considered, including short videos (maximum 15 minutes). You may submit any combination of images or video links, up to a total of five.

The cost to submit to Context 2017 is $30.00 for up to five entries. The juror’s choice award comes with a $500 cash prize.

About: Filter Photo is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Chicago, Illinois. Filter Photo’s mission is two-fold: first, to serve and support the photographic communities of Chicago and the Midwest; and second, to highlight Chicago as a vital center of the national photographic community. In 2015 Filter Photo opened Filter Space, a permanent gallery and project space located in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood at 1821 West Hubbard Street, Suite 207.
