FotoFilmic (CAN), International Call for Entries: Solo Exhibition Award IV, Deadline EXTENDED

FotoFilmic (CAN), International Call for Entries: Solo Exhibition Award IV

Deadline EXTENDED: December 30th, 2017, midnight PST

From their call: FotoFilmic’s new fall program SOLO is now open for its 4th and last call for entries this time with contemporary photography’s most fabulous couple Alex Webb & Rebecca Norris Webb as jurors and mentors.Their 30-year strong intertwined curatorial vision stands out in the field with self-evident authority, marrying Alex’s uncanny synchronic understanding of photography as complex limpidity with Rebecca’s intuitive allegorical breadth and breath manifesting our deep longing for the world.

The tensed, prolific conversation of their respective work has paved the way since their first official collaboration Violet Isle: A Duet of Photographs from Cuba in 2011 for a fuller, organically boundless language of photography paying tribute to the medium’s ever infigurable oscillation between producing pictures of the world and simultaneously a world of pictures, between documentation and narration, the objective and reflective, enlightening for all how millimetric grace and revelatory thought can coexist in the same pictorial space.

Photographers looking to grow their practice and visibility on the international scene as artists whose work importantly speak from a grounded materiality of vision don’t miss this unique opportunity to be endorsed by such renowned, influential figures of contemporary photography.
