Glass Alliance of Northern California and Association of Clay and Glass Artists, Call for Artists: Glass Currents

The Glass Alliance of Northern California and Association of Clay and Glass Artists are pleased to announce their Inaugural Exhibition at the Richmond Art Center, presenting a contemporary survey of glass art. With the American Studio Glass Movement having early roots in the Bay Area, this exhibition serves to honor this region’s place in history, while providing a contemporary view of where glass art has evolved to, today. This call is for a juried fine art exhibition showcasing the best in emerging and established artists, who meet the regional eligibility requirements, and create work primarily from glass.
Juror: JoAnn Edwards, Executive Director of the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Design.
This juried exhibition is open to any artist who fulfills the following criteria:
1. Minimum of 18 years old.
2. Connected to the California by birth, residency or schooling (from a degree granting institution), but does not need to be currently residing in the California.
Collaborative work from a 2 member artist team is eligible if both artists meet the eligibility requirements.
Eligible Works: All artwork uses glass as its main medium.
The artwork was completed in the past three (3) years (2014-2017).
Both 2D and 3D will be accepted.
All hanging hardware with instructions must accompany 2D work.
No video or installation works will be accepted.
All work must be the artist’s original design and creation; not copied from copyrighted materials.
For any artwork that requires non-standard set up or any artwork with more than one component piece, all hardware must be included along with detailed instructions and photos.
