LATITUDE Chicago (IL), International Call for Applicants: Open Call for 2018 Artist in Residence Program
Deadline: August 31st, 2017
From their call: Since August of 2012, LATITUDE has welcomed more than 30 artists to the lab as residents! We’ve worked alongside these makers, helping them produce work for exhibitions and books, assisting in experiments, and sharing our knowledge and community. In turn, residents have generously lent their creative energy to the lab, and have participated in staff critique groups, artist talks, book discussions, workshops and more!
We welcome applications from artists of varied disciplines. Though our residents are primarily photographic, we are interested in anyone proposing to make productive use of the lab. Selected applicants will be invited for a 1-month residency at LATITUDE during 2018.
-No-cost access to and use of the lab for 1 month. (This includes: ink charges, scanning, and daily membership.)
-Project consultation and oversight from the Lab Director and Lab Technician.
-Customized education on lab equipment, software and other production needs.
-24/7 access to the lab (at the Lab Director’s discretion, after an initial training period).
-Assistance from LATITUDE staff with professional development, coordinating studio visits with curators, writers, and other local artists, and programming support.
