Marin Society of Artists (CA), National Call for Artists: Fresh Art 2019

A Juried Fine Art Exhibition presented by the Marin Society of Artists, is open to all artists 18 and over residing in the United States. You are invited
to submit digital images of up to ten (10) of your original works, not previously shown in a Marin Society of Artists juried exhibition. All art works (painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, art of the book, fiber art, ceramic and glass, fine art crafts, etc.) acceptable EXCEPT video/film or installation art. Entry fee.

Juror: Donna Seager.  Seager/Gray Gallery, Mill Vallley, CA. A native of New Orleans, Donna Seager’s education was at the University of Texas where she received her degree in Art History and English. She began in the art business in 1978, working in galleries in New Orleans and was the director of the Marlborough Gallery in Boston before moving to California in 1989. In 2001, she partnered with Suzanne Gray to form Seager/Gray Gallery in Mill Valley, now a cornerstone of the Marin arts community. Donna Seager has distinguished herself for her discerning eye and commitment to the arts. She has served on the board of the San Francisco Art Dealers’ Association and the San Francisco Center for the Book and is currently a member of the Marin County Cultural Commission.

Theme: Fresh Art
How do you define “Fresh Art”? Somethng new and different, new to one’s experience, not encountered before, or a new approach to your art. Artwork that is forward or bold, expressive, engaging, stimulating, creative, infused with imagination –  what new directions are you taking with your art? 

Artwork Specifications: Artwork size limitation:  2D work not to exceed 60″ in height or width, including frame, total weight with frame cannot exceed 50 pounds. 3D work not to exceed 48″x48″, and cannot exceed 50 pounds. Waivers can be requested and may or may not be granted –  please email your request before submitting your piece. All accepted artwork must conform to “Specifications and Policy for Exhibited Artwork” available on their web site.  See Artwork Specifications for requirements.

Awards: First Place: $500
Second Place: $300
Third Place: $100
Non-monetary Honorable Mention awards may be given at Juror’s discretion.
