Mount Mercy University (IA), International Call for Artists: Critical Concerns

From their call: Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa announces a call to artists for an art exhibition at the Janlyan Hanson White Gallery. This is an open call to artists worldwide who are concerned with our ever-changing modern world. We seek recent work related to critical concerns such as politics, violence, women, racism, immigration, healthcare, the Earth, etc.
This exhibit follows ideas presented in Mount Mercy University’s Fall Faculty Series Divided We Fall: Finding Common Ground in a Fractured Age.
The exhibit is open to digitally-submitted artwork. Selected artists will be contacted to submit a high-resolution file that the gallery will take responsibility for printing, mounting on foam board, and displaying in the gallery. The final print size is either 11 x 17 inches (28 x 43 cm) or 13 x 19 inches (33 x 48 cm). Display of the original, physical works is not required.
Exhibiting artists grant permission for the gallery to photograph and reproduce any accepted work for the exhibit and for publicity purposes. Printed and mounted works become the property of Mount Mercy University and will either be recycled or used for educational purposes. Artists retain all copyrights to their work.
Eligibility: Open to visual artists age 18 and over from anywhere in the world. Original works produced with in the last 2 years will be considered.
Jurors: Works will be selected for the exhibition by: Kathryn Hagy – Art; Design Program Coordinator; Professor of Art; Jose Clemente – Assistant Professor of Graphic Design/Art; and John-Thomas Richard – Instructor of Art; Gallery Director
Entry Fee: Free entry for up to three images. The gallery assumes the costs and responsibility for printing and mounting accepted work.
