Deadline: November 10th, 2019 (Midnight Pacific Time)

The New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA) invites photographers world-wide to submit images using any photographic process (print, image transfer, emulsion transfer, encaustic, black and white, color etc.). Winners will receive a total of $3,000 in cash awards, be featured in the NYC4PA Online Gallery and Award Winners Catalog. The Grand Prize winning image will be posted on the NYC4PA home page.  Cash prize winning and Juror Selection images will be featured in a New York Gallery Exhibition at Jadite Galleries in the spring 2019. Entry fee.

Patterns & Shadows: The city in the early morning or late afternoon presents an intensified visual as the buildings, the cars and even the pedestrians present with long deep shadows. Look more closely at the buildings at any time of day and note the patterns in architecture, windows, etc.  This call is all about images where the visual impact stems from shadows or repetitive shapes/patterns. Opportunities are endless. Consider the pattern in rows of theater seats, late afternoon light on steps transforming it into repeated black and white stripes, your own shadow or that of an athlete sprinting in the park in the early hours.

Eligibility: This Call for Entries is open worldwide to both amateur and professional photographers. NYC4PA invites photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought to participate. Experimental and mixed techniques are welcome. Only 2-D work is eligible.

Exhibition and Awards: There will be 10 cash prizewinners, 15 Juror Selections and 20 Honorable Mentions.
