San Joaquin Delta College’s LH Horton Jr Gallery (CA), National Call for Artists, Photography 2019: Contemporary Portraiture

Analogue and digital photographic processes are accepted for entry. Contemporary portraiture genre; styles may include but are not limited to representational, abstract, and conceptual portraits of the human figure. Fine art images should emphasize a unique composition, pattern, shape, color, and value contrast. Entry is open to photographers residing in the U.S. Entry fee. Framed photographs may not exceed 48” width and 60” in height.
Exhibition Juror: Aline Smithson is a Los Angeles based artist best known for her conceptual portraiture and a practice that uses humor and pathos to explore ideas of childhood, aging, and the humanity that connects us. She received a BA from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and was accepted into the College for Creative Studies, studying under William Wegman, Allen Ruppersburg, and Charles Garabian. Aline is also the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Lenscratch, a daily journal on photography, and teaches at the Los Angeles Center of Photography.

About: The LH Horton Jr Gallery is a non-profit art gallery located on the campus of San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, California, 90 miles east of San Francisco. The Gallery provides exhibition opportunities to regional and national artists, and has over 2000 square feet of exhibition space.
