SJSU's Reed Magazine: Art Submissions, and more…

Reed Magazine: A journal of prose, poetry and art.

Reed Magazine is sponsored by San Jose State University and produced annually in the spring. Submissions of art, as well as poetry, non-fiction and fiction, are now being accepted for their Spring 2011 publication. Over 2,000 copies of their magazine will be printed in the spring. Submissions of art must be in digital format, jpeg or pdf, and of print quality resolution. Submissions are open to all. Accepted artists will get notifications after the Nov. 1st deadline has passed.

Also, Reed Magazine currently has two contests, one for fiction and one for poetry, deadlines Nov. 1, 2010:

John Steinbeck Award (Fiction): Submit your short story for the Steinbeck Award, which awards a prize of $1,000 to the winner! Runners up may also be chosen for publication (with the author’s permission). There is a $15.00 processing fee. Submission dates are the same as for regular submissions. Edwin Markham Prize (Poetry): Please submit manuscripts of 3-5 poems for the Markham Prize.  The winner receives $1000! Runners up may be published as well (with the author’s permission).
