STARworks (NC), International Call for Applicants: Clay Studio Artist in Residence, Fall Session 2018

The STARworks Clay Studio is accepting applications for residency positions of one to six months duration for July 1st through December 15th, 2018. The duration depends on the proposal submitted by the artist and the available studio space. Resident artists are selected based on a competitive pool of applicants from across the country and abroad, working in sculpture, functional pottery and design. Residents are chosen based on the quality and strength of their work, clearly expressed goals for residency and the dynamics that fit the studio at a given time to foster the excellence and diverse creative atmosphere of STARworks Clay Studio. Residents are provided with time to push personal, professional, technical and conceptual limits. Ceramic artists who are at a crucial stage in their career and require an opportunity to experiment, refine and formalize studio practices are encouraged to apply.
Workshops: Resident artists, interns and visiting artists have the opportunity to teach workshops in their fields. This helps foster an educational environment in the studios. Workshop instructors receive 40% of the revenue generated from participant fees.
Gallery Sales: Resident artists, interns and visiting artists are encouraged to place work in the STARworks Gallery. Artists receive 70% of the sale price with STARworks only taking 30% for commission.
